Barrel Benefits Inc. is a South Florida-based company founded in 2009 by a Mom-Entrepreneur & Canadian ex-pat, Branka Raskovic Gittens. On IG @thebarrellady
During her three years of living in Barbados with her family, Branka recognized the need for West Indians to have ready access to the U.S. marketplace. Her bi-annual Miami shopping trips, common among Caribbean residents, gave her a much wider selection of retail goods at competitive (often discounted) prices unavailable in the islands where duty, import costs, and expensive retail space meant high price tags. Branka packed her family's barrels of personal effects, on each Miami trip, in the shipper's yard beside the Miami Port and sent them to her island home via ocean freight so that her young children would reap the benefits of those barrels. Her savings were outstanding.
After moving to the USA in 2007, she was inspired to help her Barbadian friends save money for their families without the cost of flying to Miami. With this knowledge, Branka started Barrel Benefits Inc. from her home. To date, Barrel Benefits Inc. has sent hundreds of barrels and countless boxes to customers in ten islands. The home-based business continues to expand their service offerings which now includes large-scale purchasing for small business customers.
